I did birthday cakes for friends who likes my passion in baking... one is for a boy who is 2years old who likes cars and the other celebrating his 1st birthday who likes mickey mouse! I really enjoyed baking n decorating their cakes!!






I did these for a friend whom i have not seen for a long time...

Cakes

I took up 2 wilton courses from Phoon Huat to upgrade my cake design skills and really enjoyed my time there!! We will decorate the cake for every lessons. The basic one is using buttercream icing and the other uses fondant which is my favorite! Here are some of my masterpieces!!

Macarons... driving me crazy!

I have been reading up any books, blogs and youtube that say macarons as it is driving me crazy with every failure i encountered. Today i finally get to try it with success!! I cannot describe the feeling when i saw the feet forming and it all went well... no cracks, no wrinkles, no deflation and no no feet.

Paige has put in her request for green tea and plain almond macarons... will be doing it again when i can spare some time during the day.

My 1st date with fondant!

I am so interested in cakes that were decorated with fondant and gum paste but have no clue how to use them until I went for the cake decorating courses. I went for the basics using buttercream and the other course that uses gum paste and fondant which i really adores now. Here are some of the cakes that i did during my hands-on classes. I am so looking forward to every baking classes...

Butterfly Park At Sentosa

During Paige's march school holidays, we went to Universal studio and butterfly park at Sentosa. We took all the rides that her height permits but i didn't get to ride the roller coaster that i longed waited but we still had an enjoyable time together.

At butterfly park, the weather was too hot to stay for long so we took a few pictures of the butteflies and insects and we headed home as she couldn't take the heat and also she's tired and needed her nap.







I didn't know butterflies likes bananas and apples until I saw it with my own eyes! ;)

Macarons

There are so many versions of macaron recipes and 2 methods. I am still looking for the not so sweet recipe as i find them too sweet to eat a few more but too nice not to eat more.... hahaha... isn't it a dilemma?

I have made some with not too much sugar but there's still room for improvement on its sugar content. Let me know if you have any recipes for macarons. Thanks!

Peanut Cookies

While i have only 2hours to bake something in the kitchen as my little charmer is in school, i tried out the peanut cookies that is a must buy item for CNY as i love peanuts and all sort of nuts!! This is my first time trying to bake peanut cookies and it's such a breeze... done within an hour!

Pineapple tarts are really getting into me! I have made 3 batches using 3 different pastry dough and I haven't decide which one is the best!! This is the latest one that i have made...







I shall announced which one will be the best in a couple of days!! ;)



I am back with my answer to which pastry is good for the pineapple tarts that i am baking... It's the 4th one that i tried out today!!! Finally i find the answer to soft and buttery pastry for my tart! At least my hard work pays off! ;)

Ushering the Year of Rabbit!!

Lunar new year is coming and everyone is busy spring cleaning n making cookies n cakes at home. If you pass by one of the houses that lingers the smell of butter and egg that might be my house!! ;)

Pineapple tart is one of the goodies that cannot be missed during chinese new year! I had some before they can actually made it into the containers for storage. So tempting... yum yum!!
